Author: Guest Quality: Flawless Sharpness: Slight Edge Functionality: Full Contact Use These are my favorite swords at the moment. The blades are beautiful and the construction is very solid. The quarter inch thick blades and the full tang constuction make these swords extremely durable and able to withstand full contact use. These swords also have the best balance I\'ve felt, mostly because of the full tang. The only flaw in this set is the blades lack a good cutting edge. Of course, this can be fixed with a good wet stone.

Author: Jason Comerford Quality: Finely Crafted Sharpness: Semi Sharp Functionality: Light Contact Use This is a fairly good set of swords, assuming you understand what it is that you're buying. For the price these are being sold at, this is an EXCELLENT buy, and while these swords are a bit sharp and capable of very light use, they're meant to be display swords. The hilts are a bit loose, and the scabbards are made of varying types of plastic, and the paint job on the hilt is mediocre as well. All in all, a pretty good buy, so long as you understand what you're buying. These are meant for display, even if they are capable of slightly more.
Author: Matt Howard Quality: Finely Crafted Sharpness: Slight Edge Functionality: Full Contact Use The handle of the blade is incredibly sturdy, as is to be expected: Rather than having the blade be attatched to the handle through a partial tang, this handle is attatched to the bottom, part of the blade. If you buy the item, you can actually look and see this. Keep in mind that the handle is wood, not metal, so with enough force, it will chip slightly. The stain on the wood is well done with few defects. In other words the blade is not going to wobble or slip on the handle any time soon. The blade itself is very durable, and as expected of a katana, mildly flexible as well. It's not very sharp, but most certainly can cut things at adequate speed, including skin. There are defects, and most of them are solved by simply polishing it (it sometimes isn't well polished when it arrives at your house). The scabbord too is very durable, although it is obviously not made of steel, it is made of aluminum, with the possibility that the gold colored decorations on either end of the scabbord are plastic. The handguard I suspect to also be aluminum, and it may break with impact. The paint on the handguard is very well done: none of the gold color of the flowers flow into the black of the rest of the handguard. These swords can easily stand impact, though as with all swords, unless you wish to risk breaking it, it's always better not to use it in full contact.
Author: Atticus Finch Quality: Average Sharpness: Slight Edge Functionality: Light Contact Use The quality of these swords is very nice, the blade does shake a little bit, but it is better to be that way then to be ramrod straight. It is not full contact, because this blade will scratch and chip fairly easily. The sabbards are not the best, some are hard to get out, others the sword will just fall out. It is great for practicing and showing off, but no duels. Excellent sword, good for someone about 12 years and older because of the sharpness.
