1860 Naval Cutlass

This attractive replica evokes the legendary Ames M1860 Navy Cutlass. Whereas most swords were for officers or ceremonial proceedings, the M1860 naval cutlass was the real thing, made for naval warfare boarding actions. Here it is a 35 1/2" overall, unsharpened carbon steel blade. The handle is made from imitation leather with a brass wire "shagreen" wrap making the sword easy to grip, even when wet, making it perfect for pursuing pirates through a Caribbean tempest. It also features the iconic brass hand guard. The scabbard is covered in imitation leather with a brass tip and throat, giving this sword an elegant look when displayed or worn in a sash or belt.
