Description
From the call of Pope Urban II in 1096 AD, to the fall of Malta in 1565 AD; the constant companion to the European warrior was his trusted weapon. Though the act of, "taking the cross" had a life span of almost 500 years, the apex of common romantization comes from the 12th and 13th centuries. Much like the people, the swords began to change. This sword is a great indicator of that change. With the straight cross trees and cross in the pommel, this would have become very popular.
