The Bashford Dean Sword, not to be confused with the more famous Harriet Dean sword, is a prime example of 15th sword manufacturing. The original was manufactured in Italy in the early 15th century and gifted to the Mameluke Sultan, Malik Mu'Ayyad Shaykh in 1419. This sword was kept in the private collection of Professor Bashford Dean, until his death in 1928. At the time, this sword was gifted to the Met and its twin sword was gifted to his Sister, Harriet. That sword was lost in 1943 without a trace, just to show up in an attic in Texas in 2015.

This sword is exceptionally well balanced and though it is a wide blade, it is very manageable.

This sword features:

- A 5160 Sharped Blade

- Full Tang

- Peened Pommel.

- Red leather Scabbard

- Brass Chape and Collar on the Scabbard

- This sword comes with a belt configuration that can be worn in different ways, depending on the wearers preference.
