The Great sword was a favorite amongst the European Soldiers of fortune, also known as the Landsknecht. This particular Great Sword has a unique guard that is wrapped in a circle, perhaps to keep the flamboyant sleeves of the German Soldat from getting bound up. 

This sword is 65" overall

With a 52" blade.
